(12 Mar 2016) Thousands of anti-Trump protesters and pro-Trump supporters clashed on the streets of Chicago, following the cancellation of a rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday night. Protesters, calling the other camp "racists," entered into shouting matches with Trump supporters that eventually led to shoving and name-calling, amid heavy police presence. Trump called off the event due to safety concerns after protesters packed the arena where his event was to take place. The protests then spilled over into the streets, with protesters chanting "We stopped Trump," before turning to a more familiar tune when they began chanting "No Justice, no peace" in a city that has historically and especially recently been the epicenter of racial tension over police brutality in the United States.
