Childlike Wonder

The richest experience of living life intentionally comes through living life with childlike wonder. Do you remember having experiences of amazement and awe at the simplest and most ordinary things when you were a child? Do you remember having any of those experiences as an adult? What were the circumstances? For me, I remember climbing up a mountain here in South Korea. Okay, honestly, I didn't climb up the mountain. There was a gondola that took me more than half of the way up. The rest of the way was by stairs and some regular hiking. The last ten to twenty meters, however, were by climbing up some small boulders if you wanted to reach the highest point, which I decided I did. I climbed up those somewhat unstable rocks, and the moment I got to the top and sat down to regain my stability and relax from the mild terror I felt going up those boulders, the sun broke through the clouds. I could see the rays of the sun streaming through and I was overwhelmed with a sense of awe and Divine presence. We don't have to wait for those extraordinary moments to reclaim the awe of the everyday, and being that open to the mystery and beauty of this physical universe is a sign of being equally open to the powerful flow of intention.
