After almost 18 months, the Maitree international bus service that connects India and Bangladesh is back in operation, providing a boost for cross-border connections between the two countries. The authorities stated that there were no major disruptions on the day of operation, which gave Tripura's Tourism Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, much optimism about the renewal of the bus service as a means to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
