On August 20, 1977 Voyager 2 was launched. It utilized a once-in-a-lifetime planetary alignment to visit all four giant outer planets of our Solar System - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Only a single burn towards Jupiter was needed with gravity assists used later to slingshot the probe to all other planets, with a small course correction burn after Uranus. Flyby of Neptune on August 1989 was the point when every known planet in the Solar System had been visited at least once by a space probe. Voyager 1 launched 16 days after Voyager 2, on September 5, 1977 and visited Jupiter, Saturn and Titan. Both Voyager probes are now in interstellar space and they continue to perform their mission even today, 45 years after their launch. -- Few remarks - even though this is a recreation of Voyager 2 mission, some content was used from Voyager 1 for better viewing experience: Original launch commentary is from Voyager 1 launch as it provides a more verbose experience Pale Blue Dot was taken by Voyager 1 on February 14, 1990 As this is my biggest, most ambitious video so far and likely the last video before KSP 2 comes out, it also features a sort of a homage to my KSP RSS career so far with some more noteworthy screenshots of playthroughs to date (at the end of the video). -- Music: Cosmic Glow by Andrewkn (music from pixabay.com) Heaven and Hell, Pt. I highly recommend it! Most of the time spent creating this video was learning how to do stuff in Resolve and it was worth it.
