27th Annual Daytona State College Foundation Gala, honoring Forough B. Hosseini. Forough B. Hosseini, Executive Vice President of Information Systems for ICI Homes, is a graduate of Daytona State College (AA), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (BS) and the University of Central Florida (MBA). Forough serves on boards of many local, state and national organizations. From 2006 to 2019, she served on the Daytona State College District Board of Trustees, including five years as Chair. Over this period of time, DSC’s achievements, rankings and recognition skyrocketed, facilities were built to support program growth and focused initiatives, tuition was reduced, less fortunate students were recruited, retained and put on a path toward their future successes and so much more. Forough was presented the Association of Florida Colleges’ Distinguished Service Award in 2018. In addition to her work at ICI, service to other organizations and deep community involvement and leadership, Forough founded and Chairs Food Brings Hope (FBH), a nonprofit public charity dedicated to pro- viding collaborative solutions for families with children who experience hardship due to homelessness, poverty or unfamiliarity with community resources. FBH hosts 37 programs, serving more than 1,700 students in 29 schools, and with the support of the Hosseini Family Foundation, which provides 100% of the overhead costs, FBH is able to apply 100% of every dollar raised to those in need. Earlier this year, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Forough to the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet; their vision statement reads: “all children in Florida grow up safe, healthy, educated and prepared to meet their full potential.” Beyond the accolades, appointments and demonstrable leader- ship and service, Forough is - at heart, and together with husband, Mori - focused on her family, including their three remarkable daughters, Nellie, Nika and Nina. Nellie, the oldest, received her Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School! Nina graduated from University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business with a Master of Science in Real Estate. Nika, her twin, recently completed a law degree at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. All three are highly engaged with various boards and committees, giving back to their community, as they have learned from their parents.
