It has a maximum height of 14482 feet or 4414 metres h. It remains closed in winters due to heavy snow fall. It is opened in month of June-July and again closed in November-december. i started my trip early morning at 5.30 hrs from Pathankot. Pathankot to banikhet is around 80 km distance which will take 3 hours. We Arrived baniket at 9 hrs. after breakfast I started journey to sach pass. On the way you will pass through chamera dam, chamera lake, koti , nakrod, tissa, bhanjraru, and bairagarh. Throughout the journey the views are very good. You will find many waterfalls on the way. If one is travelling for the first time he will be compelled to take breaks and enjoy these views. So always keep buffer time in hand whenever planning journey to such places. After taking multiple stops I finally reached bairagarh checkpost little before 4 hrs. i had planned to come back same day after visiting sach pass. But security didn’t allowed me to go further as road ahead is totally offroad and ur top speed will be around 10 – 15 kmph. Also weather is very unpredictable and not advisable to go in later hours. i could have stayed at bairagarh and crossed the checkpost at early hours next day. But due to shortage of time i abandoned the journey and returned back to banikhet at around 20 hrs. Bairagarh to sach pass is 29 km and will take minimum 3 hrs. so u require 6 – 7 hrs just for reaching and returning. This not includes time taken for halts or sight seeing clickin pictures etc. So keep that in mind as I have planned to leave banikhet at 9 and reach at bairagarh by 12 and then visit sach pass and return by night to banikhet. Which is not impossible but very impractical. It will make the trip a project rather than a trip. Make sure u reach the checkpost before 14;00 hrs. so u must start from banikhet lnot later than 9 hrs Bairagarh to sach pass and back is the most preferred route taken by all. From sach pass one can Come back to bairagarh or Dalhousie or Cross to killer. Bairagarh is a small village in tissa tehsil OF CHAMBA DISTRICT. Roads upto bairagarh are open also in winters. There are few shops and home stays and hotels available in bairagarh and tissa. So best plan will be to take a halt at bairagarh. You can plan your stay in the chamunda hotels at bairagarh. I will give their contact number in the description. And then leave early next morning at 6 hrs and visit sach pass and return the same day to banikhet or Dalhousie. It will take the same time to reach killer from sach pass as to reach back bairagarh. Roads are good till bairagarh. roads from bairagarh to sach pass and further to killar are total offroad. You will find no roads at all to make condition worse it is full of all gravel stones dips and bolders. One has to drive very carefully. If you are coming by car then u have to also mind the gap for other vehicles due to narrow roads Weather is very unpredictable. There is no shop or staying option so Keep all necessary items for emergency like puncture kit with u. Also wear good layers as it will be cold in sach pass. Also wear water proof shoes, carry raincoats and a pair of warm gloves. There are many small dhabas on the way till bairagarh. But there are no shop from bairagarh to sach pass. One or two temporary shops may be there till satrundi which if open may serve food and tea. It was a life time experience. Start from banikhet u will enjoy scenic views. But the views will become more surreal as you progress farther to sach pass. Chamunda Hotels ---- 8894666992
