This video is for the developer. I take off vertically, then transition to normal flight and later fly vertically. The "thermals" bug started just after 90 degrees vertical, from around 8:30. It was possibly to climb at idle power. Not sure what is happening from 17:00 ! From 18:00, the aircraft climbs at idle power, on a knife edge, with the nose pointing DOWN, up to 78,000+ feet! How could thermals be that strong? At some point I climb at idle power at 30,000+ feet per minute! It took a long time to get out of that bug. I then flew back to Nellis for a short landing. My Assistance settings, shown at the beginning of the video, are set to HARD, of course. To make it more realistic, I was in Live Weather and real time. In order to be able to take off vertically, the Harrier must imperatively be under 21,000 pounds / 9,525 kg. I take off at around 8,960 kg. This is the DC Designs AV-8B Harrier II, released on 23 Nov 2022. This aircraft could get improvements in the curves around the canopy, and both air intakes' curves. But the sound is excellent!
