At TEDxCornell, Karim Abouelnaga emphasizes the need for local contribution, not global competition. As a sophomore at Cornell University in 2011, Karim Abouelnaga founded Practice Makes Perfect, a nonprofit organization that aims to redefine the summer learning experience for low-income youth. Research has found that two thirds of achievement gaps can be explained by unequal access to summer learning, so his organization is dedicated to a summer education program to support students from kindergarten through college matriculation.
