Episode 34 — Vanua Balavu, Fiji In this episode of Tidal Trekkers, we head into a special village on Vanua Balavu to catch up with friends who welcome us like family and put on an absolute feast. From fresh food to coconut crabs, the night was one we’ll never forget. The boys take us on a tour of the village farm, checking out pigs and learning how food is grown and shared in island communities. After a rainy day spent exploring nearby beaches and fishing, we stumble across something unexpected — a natural hot water spring bubbling up right on the beach. The next day, the boys fish and jump off the local wharf with village kids before we head out spearfishing. That’s when Nelson lands something we’d never seen before — a huge milkfish, an incredible and rare moment caught on camera. We return to the hot water beach with a temperature sensor and discover the water reaches 160°F (71°C) — unbelievably hot and completely natural.
