When units arrived, they found a fire, 5 acres with a moderate to rapid rate of spread and wind driven with multiple structures being impacted and a potential for 500+ acres. Several resources were ordered, according to Cal Fire RRU, numerous engine and hand crews, over 250 personnel, from the county, Cal Fire-San Diego County and other agencies were sent to the location including, seven Cal Fire air tankers and four water-dropping helicopters. Several structures were damaged, but Cal Fire couldn’t confirm if they were homes and could only confirm one home lost. Evacuations were ordered south of Highway 371, north of the county line, west of Terwilliger Road and east of Foolish Pleasure Road. The evacuation center was at Temecula Valley High School, but as of Tuesday afternoon, no one had utilized the center.
