Palestinian and Pro-Palestinian voices, organizers, and activists have long faced repression, for their anti-zionist, anti-imperialist, and Pro-Palestinian perspectives. Since October 7th, 2023, these activities have continued to escalate to counter the various modes of anti-zionist, anti-genocide, and Pro-Palestinian organizing. While nothing can compare to the estimated hundreds of thousands of Palestinian lives snuffed out by zionist western proxy regime that calls itself "Israel," there are many people who have lost jobs, been suspended or expelled from school, been targeted for vigilante harassment, been blacklisted, or even been physically assaulted. When you are under investigation, or facing criminal charges, or dealing with a campaign of targeted harassment it can be extremely psychologically taxing and traumatic. In this episode we will talk to Dr. Lara Sheehi, as someone who has done the work to analyze the psychic processes and psychological warfare techniques at play, and as someone who has been subjected to many of these types of campaigns and tactics and knows many more who have as well. What does psychic militancy mean in times like this? How do people who are dealing with these campaigns deal with the psychic effects of these forms of repression? And how do we balance the need to continue to grow Pro-Palestine movements and solidarity networks and continue to isolate zionist institutions and messaging in these times? We will talk about Lara Sheehi's recent article for Middle East Critique - Intent to Harm: Settler Colonial Outposts in Psychoanalysis: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/epdf/...
