ISIS-style and LeT funded conversion gang busted in Agra, Hindu girls were forced to embrace Islam

In a major crackdown, Agra police busted an ISIS-style religious conversion racket. During the initial probe, police found that the minor Hindu girls were forced to embrace Islam through radicalisation and coercion. The shocking conversion racket came to light in March 2025. Police unearthed the conversion syndicate while investigating a missing persons report for two sisters. The investigation unearthed links to a network with suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Initial probe suggested that LeT was funding the racket by sending money through different routes in the UAE, Canada, London, and the US. The police sources revealed that the syndicate hired locals to brainwash Hindu girls using Islamic preaching. YouTube channels and online conversion sessions were also used to brainwash Hindu girls. A report by India Today suggests that girls were forcefully converted and moved to different states. The syndicate also used to assign different identities to the girls to avoid suspicion. ..............................................................................................
