I've been working on this project here and there for a little while now. Lands of Lore is one of my favorite games and I've always been curious to know how it works. It's quite fascinating to try and deconstruct it to understand how each part was made. This is my attempt at remaking it as faithfully as possible. I'm currently working on the Gladstone Keep and Northland Forest maps. There are still lots of things to be done but here's a little showcase of what I did so far: 00:00 Grid based layout and movements 00:20 Trigger zones interactions (displaying text, opening doors) 00:53 Inventory and character details screen 01:24 Locked door 01:43 Dialog box to display long text 02:00 Atlas animation and minimap 02:33 Transition to scene and Nathaniel shop scene 03:35 Transition between levels I may give more details about how things work in the future.
