Megan Marshall reads "Amaryllis" song by Scott Wheeler Sarah Chalfy, soprano Scott Wheeler, piano Video by Kathy Wittman Audio by Stephanie Rogers and Antonio Oliart Composer's note: In January of 2021, Megan Marshall wrote her sonnet “Amaryllis” in memory of her late partner Scott Harney, also a wonderful poet. It’s Megan’s first poem since her days as a student of Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell. In my musical setting I refer to the classic Caccini song “Amarilli Mia bella,” both in the opening vocal line and in the ending piano accompaniment. The song is dedicated to Megan.
