This is the location where Tokugawa Ieyasu first set up his camp. It's called Momohaiyama. On September 15, 1600, the Western forces fell for Ieyasu's stratagem and headed from Ogaki Castle to Sekigahara. Around 2 in the night, Ieyasu followed suit and abandoned the Mino-Akasaka camp. Subsequently, he established his camp at Sekigahara. It's Momohaiyama. Momohaiyama is a place where Prince Ōama, in the Jinshin Rebellion, once set up his camp and achieved victory. It seems that the villagers of Sekigahara offered peaches to Prince Ōama, which he found exceptionally delicious. He paid for them and distributed the peaches to his soldiers. It is said that this is how Momohaiyama got its name.
