In today’s short, I’m giving my King Cobra Rusty his antibiotic injection as part of his ongoing treatment for a rare fungal infection. This infection was caused by contaminated substrate we unknowingly purchased from Home Depot. We’ve since removed all of it from the snake room and will never use that substrate again. Rusty will need injectable antibiotics every three days for the next month as we battle this aggressive fungus. It’s extremely important to monitor exotic animals closely and catch issues like this early on.
