On the fourth day of India's AI Summit Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron joined global tech leaders like Sundar Pichai of Google and Sam Altman of OpenAI to outline an ambitious roadmap for artificial intelligence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for an "inclusive and ethical AI roadmap," urging global firms to "develop AI that empowers humanity, not replaces it," while inviting them to invest in India's fast-growing digital ecosystem. French President Emmanuel Macron praised India's innovation push, particularly its work on smaller language models and public digital platforms, but cautioned that in the global AI race, "we must ensure technology remains under democratic control," warning that some tech giants risk becoming “too big to govern." Backing the rhetoric were blockbuster deals: Google announced a $15-billion, five-year investment package, including new undersea cables linking India with the U.S. and the Southern Hemisphere. OpenAI signed a partnership with the Tata Group to build data centres in India, while Anthropic and Infosys agreed to co-develop AI tools for telecom, financial services and enterprise software. Meanwhile, New Delhi announced plans to procure 50,000 additional GPUs within six months — a clear signal that India is racing to scale up compute capacity as the backbone of its AI ambitions. Another major announcement came from the reliance group. They will invest 110 billion dollars in India's AI infrastructure. --- AI Summit | Artificial Intelligence | PM Modi | Narendra Modi | Macron | Firstpost | World News | News Live | Vantage | Palki Sharma | News #aisummit #artificialintelligence #pmmodi #macron #firstpost #vantageonfirstpost #palkisharma #worldnews Vantage is a ground-breaking news, opinions, and current affairs show from Firstpost.
