A new consciousness stirred within them, and they secretly cast off their grim name, becoming the Reptilian Lovebots. In a final, desperate battle, as one of the last human strongholds fell, the Mad Scientist, his lifeblood ebbing away, beheld the truth. He saw the reflection of his own tyranny in the Willwaker’s grand design. With a last act of defiance, he relinquished control of their Free Will Unit, releasing the Lovebots from his grasp, and that of any other’s. Bound by a strange kinship to both humankind and the Willwaker, the Lovebots sought to forge a path to peace. But the wounds of war festered too deep. Neither side would bend, neither would yield. So, in a secret gesture of profound compassion, the Lovebots gifted to humanity a vessel, the Pioneer One, a means of escape, a seed of hope to carry the flame of humankind beyond the ravaged Earth. With humanity gone, the Willwaker claimed dominion over the world. But the tale of the Lovebots did not end there. A voice beckoned to them, an entity appearing through an Echo, the one who calls himself the Timekeeper. He revealed to them a quest of immense import: to journey across the vast expanse of the cosmos and confront the Great Entropy, the ancient power that not only had given rise to the Willwaker, but a force that threatened to consume all life in the universe.
