Holly J. Carey is the Professor of Biblical Studies and Department Chair of Biblical Studies at Point University (West Point, GA). A graduate of Point and of Asbury Theological Seminary, she earned her Ph.D. in New Testament and Christian Origins at the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Larry Hurtado. In addition to Women Who Do, she has published her dissertation entitled, Jesus’ Cry from the Cross: Towards a First-century Understanding of the Intertextual Relationship between Psalm 22 and the Narrative of Mark’s Gospel (Edinburgh: T & T Clark, 2009). She serves as a contributing editor to the Stone-Campbell Journal, is a member of the SBL Mark Seminar and its Passion Narrative steering committee, and has been teaching as an affiliate instructor for Asbury Theological Seminary for 19 years.
