So when he had the opportunity to buy the C41 chassis driven in 2001 by Cochet-Dayraut-Terrien and then in 2002 by Cochet-Belloc-Tréluyer, the boss of Art & Revs did not hesitate for long. "I bought it in 2011", he told Endurance-Info. However, sold to Mirabeau Compétition and then to Sport Garage, he found it in a very poor condition. As a result of an amazing feat by his GTS-R Heritage department, the GTS-R came out of his workshops as good as new, after 1800 hours of work. Even if Covid slowed down the project. ''I wanted an identical restoration," explains Moulin. ''Restoring this Viper to its 2002 specification allows us to show our skill. Moreover, we had to rebuild many parts that were no longer available. The chassis was rebuilt first, then everything was put on hold until January 2022. We had six months before the Goodwood Festival of Speed.'' But the GTS-R Heritage team did it and the 'Playstation Viper' made its first public appearance in July at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was one of the stars and was signed by... Benoît Tréluyer. One week later, it took part in the Endurance Racing Legends race during Le Mans Classic, returning to its garden. "I am both surprised and delighted by this enthusiasm", admits Moulin. ''The Viper is an extraordinary car with an exceptional track record and this livery is incredible. To bring it back to Le Mans 20 years later is a big thing for me.'' But to complete the circle, the reptile wearing the #52 had to find one of the men who had driven it to the third step of the GTS podium in La Sarthe 20 years ago. That's where Once Upon A Car came in, as we came up with the idea of allowing Benoît Tréluyer to get back behind the wheel of the car that made him fall in love with the 24 H. of Le Mans, this race he won three times with Audi and which made him a legend. Alors quand il a eu l'occasion de se procurer le fameux châssis C41 confié en 2001 à Cochet-Dayraut-Terrien puis en 2002 à Cochet-Belloc-Tréluyer, le patron de Art & Revs n'a pas hésité bien longtemps. « Je l'ai rachetée en 2011 », a-t-il expliqué à Endurance-Info. Reste que vendue à Mirabeau Compétition puis à Sport Garage, il l'a récupéré dans un bien piteux état. Fruit d'un véritable tour de force de son département GTS-R Héritage, elle est ressortie des ateliers comme neuve, à l'issue de 1800 heures de travail. L'homme étant pointilleux, il a tenu à la remettre en spécification Le Mans 2002. Mais le Covid a mis en frein à l'opération. « Je voulais une restauration à l'identique, explique Moulin. Refaire cette Viper comme elle était en 2002 nous permet de montrer notre savoir-faire. D'ailleurs, il nous a fallu refaire beaucoup de pièces qui n'étaient plus disponibles. Le châssis a commencé par être refait, puis tout a été mis en pause jusqu'en janvier 2022. Il nous restait six mois avant le Goodwood Festival of Speed. » Mais l'équipe de GTS-R Héritage a relevé le défi avec brio, et la ''Viper Playstation'' a effectué sa première sortie publique en juillet 2022, à l'occasion du Goodwood Festival of Speed, dont elle a été l'une des stars et où elle a été signée par... Benoît Tréluyer. Une semaine plus tard, elle a participé à Le Mans Classic, retrouvant le jardin de ses exploits. « Je suis surpris mais aussi ravi de cet engouement, reconnaît Moulin. La Viper est une auto extraordinaire au palmarès exceptionnel et cette livrée est incroyable. La ramener au Mans 20 ans après est quelque chose de fort pour moi. » Mais pour boucler la boucle, il fallait au reptile affublé du n°52 retrouver l'un de ceux qui l'avaient dompté et conduit - avec l'aide d'Oreca - jusque sur la troisième marche du podium de la catégorie GTS dans la Sarthe il y a tout juste 20 ans. C'est là que Once Upon A Car est entrée en jeu, puisque nous avons eu l'idée de permettre à Benoît Tréluyer de retrouver cette auto qui lui a fait aimer les 24 H. du Mans, cette course qu'il a ensuite remportée à trois reprises avec Audi et qui a fait de lui une légende. L'émotion était forte en ce 4 octobre 2022 sur le circuit Paul-Ricard. Une journée que Art & Revs, Once Upon A Car et plus encore Benoît Tréluyer ne sont pas prêts d'oublier...
