It’s designed to fit in a GSI Mug Perfect from travelling. It's an ideal coffee device for going camping or hiking. There are three parts to the coffee rocket. There's the water funnel up top, a stainless steel reusable filter that has some really nice small holes in to filter the coffee. Then there's the holder that attaches It all together and this sits over your cup. It’ll easily brew a full cup of coffee In under 3 minutes So let’s dive straight in and brew a coffee using the GSI Rocket First weigh out your beans. The filter will hold 15g, that’s about two tablespoons. If you were aiming for even more lightweight packing you could easily store 15g packets of pre ground coffee In the water funnel but for a little extra goodness I’m taking The Porlex Mini 2 In this travel scenario. I’m grinding the beans just a little coarser than medium grind or a filter grind. Place them in the filter basket and assemble The Rocket using the support legs To sit it on top Of your cup. There's little graduations that help centre the Rocket on your cup. With water just off the boil I’ll do a little preinfusion first - that’s just a dash of water to get the grinds initially wet wait 30 seconds before filling the funnel up about ¾ of the way up which will give you approximately 230ml Or 8 oz of coffee after it’s all dripped through. You do want to take care not to over fill your cup or you’ll end up with a great mess, but even worse: A weak coffee. But once you’ve added all the water let it brew away and drain out. It shouldn’t take anymore than a few minutes to drain And it’s the design of the snorkel, you see Sticking up in the funnel that allows the water To drain into the bottom Without creating any back suction. You can easily see why they called it the rocket too looks similar to one and there is the rocket fuel. Drink it black or add some milk. Probably powdered if you’re out and about but for a simple and delicious coffee To enjoy anywhere you are. The Coffee Rocket makes a great single cup brewer In cleaning the unit It’s as simple as disassembling everything knock out those grinds with a rinse and a dry you’re ready to go again or store it away for next time. The GSI Outdoors Coffee Rocket is an innovative one person pour-over coffee maker that stores away inside your favorite camp mug for travelling. In just a few minutes, you can be enjoying a rich, delicious, fresh coffee anywhere. This compact pour-over ideal for a camping coffee maker uses a unique design that incorporates a 230ml water reservoir complete with a funnel that allows hot water to pour through an easy-to-clean, stainless steel coffee filter basket.
