Elections have consequences. But too few people are aware of the stakes of this year’s elections to the World Zionist Congress, taking place from March 10 through May 4, the results of which will determine the distribution of more than 5 billion dollars over the next 5 years. Through the WZC elections, Diaspora Jewish communities have a choice to make: Will that money be allocated to organizations and programs that promote intolerance and illiberalism? Or will it go towards groups which stand for an Israel that lives up to its highest values? Partners for Progressive Israel and Hashomer Hatzair will present this urgent conversation as leaders of the Hatikvah Slate, the only anti-Occupation slate running in the World Zionist Congress. Learn more about the Hatikvah Slate and vote for an Israel that lives up to its highest values at https://www.hatikvahslate.net/ On Wednesday, March 12, at 1:30pm Eastern Time, we were joined by representatives of several progressive organizations who receive funding from the WZO allocations, and who are the architects of a future of hope and political alternatives in Israel. Join us; hear about their vital work, and discover how your vote in this election supports on-the-ground change for Israelis and Palestinians. Panelists Included: Lev Littman, co-executive director of the Tzedek Centers movement, an NGO that engages in local civic organizing for social change Naama Moshinsky, a director of the Tzedek Centers’ Local Voice program, which trains candidates running in Israel’s municipal elections Ayelet Razin Ben Or, cofounder of the Dinah Project, director of the Nitzan Foundation for Women and Gender Equality; former director of the Authority for the Advancement of the Status of Women in Israel Dror Morag, Head of the Department for Social Activism, Tikkun Olam at the World Zionist Organization Ronit Snir, Secretary-General of Hashomer Hatzair in Israel The discussion was moderated by PPI Executive Director, Rabbi Margo Hughes-Robinson, one of the leaders on the Hatikvah Slate in the World Zionist Congress elections.
