"Cocaine Country Dancing" has an undeniable, funky groove which compliment his baritone, Waylon-esque vocals in a strangely beautiful way. When superb production was added to the mix, Paul found himself with lightning in a bottle. Richard again shows off his engineering prowess, sending the drums, bass and acoustic guitar through the mic input on a vintage reel-to-reel, and back to a dedicated channel. This added channel, with its distortion gained inside of the reel-to-reel, is the feathered in with the organic mix, creating a saturated grit for a vintage sound. OTW is engineered and mixed by Richard Williams @ Plum Tree Recording Studio. One Take Weekly aims to present a sneak peek inside a studio recording session, each track performed and filmed in one take - imperfections & all. No overdubs, NO AUTOTUNE, and no trick-photography! (Just good mixing...& my nearly inept video editing skills) What you see is what you hear - CE.
