I was in the St. George area for a few days for some work training and decided to go a day early and try to do a Canyon in Zion National Park. I don't get over that way very often, too many canyons between me and there to want to drive that far, but since I had to be in the area I applied for a last minute permit for Pine Creek. A canyon that I've been wanting to do for a while. The pictures are always stunning and the canyon did not disappoint. Matt met up with me at 7 am on a Friday morning, we snagged the permits and headed off to the canyon. It was a bit overcast, but not threatening and we were getting an early start as I had to be in my training later in the day. It was a fantastic day and will live forever as probably one of my favorite canyons that I have done. The rappels at the time were mostly bolted except for like 2 of them and they were all pretty straight forward. I know Zion gets a lot of traffic and so it's designed that way, but this made it easy for experienced canyoneers like Matt and I to just bomb through it without any issues. We were back to the cars by noon and off to get some lunch and we never saw another soul in the canyon. Good Times.
