CTD Fall2024 PD SACSCOC Isn’t Scary! Intro to Institutional Accreditation and 5th Yr Interim Report

Presenter: Dr. Jeff Roberts, Executive Director, Accreditation & Compliance While it is seven letters, when people think of our institutional accreditor, SACSCOC, four-letter words often come to mind. However, neither SACSCOC nor accreditation in general need to be scary! This session will provide an introduction and overview of Lone Star College’s institutional accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges, and Schools Commission on College (SACSCOC), highlight the focus of accreditation upon institutional quality and improvement, and show the alignment between SACSCOC accreditation standards and many of our institutional processes. Additionally, the session will give a brief overview of the College’s next major accreditation report, the 5th Year Interim Report, and will highlight the necessary timelines and expectations of that process.
