Chinese Startup screen and cannot continue to system menu alright heres what i did first you need either a gamecube controller or a gamecube dance pad if you use the dance pad all you have to do is plug it into slot 4 of the GC ports on the wii, turn on the wii, and press all the arrows on the dance pad (up down left right) it doesnt have to be in order just press all of them using your hands and feet or paperweight whatever if you use a GC controller then you have to take it apart to the point where you can see the circuit board but still be able to press the buttons, then plug into slot 4 and push up down left right on the directional pad. it wont work without taking it apart unless you seriously wore down your GC's dpad over the years but I doubt that it would work for you as easily as that the dance pad method is easier and faster but costs more if you dont have one the GC method costs less if you dont have one but is longer and harder and if you screw up then you can kiss your GC controller goodbye so what pressing the direction buttons will do is activate SaveMiiFrii, which is a autoboot mode for the wii. it wont boot games, but if you insert a game with an update in it, it will automatically install the update now you need to buy a game with a higher firmware update then the one you are currently on. i dont know any of the games except one, and it will work if you are on 3.2 or below. i used animal crossing city folk, which update my wii to 3.3 updating it will not harm your wii or your homebrew capabilities unless you update to 4.0 i think so the checklist of things to get: -Gamecube Controller (requires a triwing screw driver to open) OR -Dance Pad -wii game with an update to a higher firmware sorry i couldnt tell you what games to get, but you can search for games with updates
