(Verse 1) Some people say they love the Lord, I know it's not so. When you have a holiness meeting, they refuse to go. (Chorus) Praise the Lord, I love His power; love Him more each day. Jesus died upon the cross to take my sins away. (Verse 2) If you say you love the Lord, you would love His signs. Taking up serpents, speaking in tongues, the Lord says these are mine. (Verse 3) Some preachers they preach holiness, you hear them sing and pray. They preach about John 3:16, but they throw Saint Mark away. (Verse 4) Mark 16 in the Bible, the 18th verse is true. If you believe in the Word of God, you'll take up serpents too. (Verse 5) I know alot of people who used to walk and talk with me. But ever since I took up serpents, they turned their backs on me. (Verse 6) I don't chew no tobacco, I don't chew no gum. If I live right close to God, I'll take up three to your one. I really like this song. I grew up listening to my mom and dad sing it.
