Feminist movements in Latin America have been consolidating as powerful actors of social transformation. Driven by demands for gender equality, reproductive rights, and the end of gender-based violence, feminism in the region has gained strength over the past few decades. 2015 marked a new phase for the movement, with mass protests spreading across the continent, such as the Argentine movement Ni Una a Menos. Cultural mobilization through social media amplified the messages and fostered transnational solidarity. Symbols such as the green scarf, associated with the fight for legal abortion, became icons of resistance. In parallel, issues such as gender-based violence, femicide, and LGBTQIAPN+ rights gained prominence in public discourse. Today, the political landscape presents challenges and advances: while some countries have adopted progressive policies, others face conservative and populist backlashes. Nevertheless, the feminist movement remains resilient and in constant evolution.
