A sqadia.com medical video lecture on Malaria – I talks about the progression of the disease. However, this V-Learning™ lecture on Malaria – II thoroughly explains the methods of diagnosing Malaria, the laboratory findings, and complications. The diagnostic methods discussed in this lecture include PfHRP2 dipstick or card test, plasmodium LDH dipstick or card test, and microtube concentration methods. In addition to this, treatment of Malaria through various antimalarial agents is the essential component delineated in this lecture. ▬ 📃 Malaria The diagnosis of Malaria is an important topic discussed in this lecture. Various diagnostic techniques are used for examination. The first and foremost method elaborated over here is the microscopic examination of plasmodium falciparum, plasmodium vivax, plasmodium ovale, and plasmodium malariae. It is done by using thick Blood film and thin Blood film. The second method is the PfHRP2 dipstick or card test. Another standard method for diagnosis is the plasmodium LDH dipstick or card test. The former corresponds to the detection of water-soluble Proteins produced by Plasmodium falciparum while in the later test, the soluble glycolytic enzyme is detected which is released by parasite-infected Erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells. Comments are also given on how to observe the presence of malaria by using microtube concentration methods. Moving onward, treatment of Malaria i.e. Chemotherapy of Malaria can be carried out by using antimalarial agents. These agents include antifolates, primaquine, quinolines, and related drugs which are given based on severity and stage of Infection. Chloroquine-sensitive strains are treated by giving the prescribed dose discussed in the lecture. Treatment of multidrug-resistant P. falciparum Malaria is also highlighted. Complications of Malaria encompass acute renal failure, acute pulmonary edema, and hypoglycemia. ▬ 🎬 5500+ sqadia.com Medical Videos ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 👩🏻⚕️ Accessible Medical Student Education 24/7/365 💡 Simplifying Medical Learning 💪 Study Hard, Dream Big, Achieve More
