The issues that need to be resolved are the ones we typically avoid. Our country has been gradually progressing in terms of acknowledging the need for comprehensive sex education to address the prevalence of teenage pregnancy and the risks of sexually transmitted diseases. However, many people continue to avoid the topic since sex-related conversations are still deemed inappropriate by most, and many still do not know that sex education goes beyond contraceptives and sexual intercourse. 'Hali, Istorya Ta' recognizes the need for open conversations regarding sexual health topics. We believe that the first step in eradicating the main problem is by having meaningful conversations where everyone is involved. The more we encourage people to talk about these tabooed topics, the more we can openly discuss and educate the community on the proper ways to handle the problems they’re all too scared to even try to talk about. Avoiding dire consequences starts from knowing these consequences. We should not shy away from facing this reality but rather tackle the problem head on. Discussing human sexuality equips the people, especially adolescents, with proper knowledge to protect themselves from unwarranted curiosities and unfavorable consequences. Proactive solutions and informed decisions stem from self-awareness and comprehensive sex education. So help us break the stigma today and let conversations pave the way.
