Exploring the Peruvian Amazon (a wildlife short film)

We journeyed into Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the Amazon Basin from Iquitos in northeastern Peru and spent several days camping in the jungle and seeking out wildlife. We saw lots and lots of kingfishers and egrets, a variety of hawks, macaws, parrots, sloths, caiman and several species of monkey. We travelled towards the end of the dry season in September 2022, low waters were good for birding due to the fishing conditions, though we saw a variety of mammals and other animals too. The best time to travel to this region for mammals is the wet season as there is less accessible ground so they can be easier to find.
