The DOJO supercomputer is Tesla’s open secret weapon, their behind-the-scenes powerhouse, boosting the company’s AI capabilities. Currently, Tesla has 14000 Nvidia A100 graphics cards clustered together across 3 data centers, that it uses to train neural networks. The goal of the Dojo project is to effectively replace new Nvidia graphics cards with Tesla’s own Dojo chips that should be faster, cheaper, and take up less physical space in the data center. Next year in 2023, Dojo will begin being phased in. Tesla has explained all of the missing pieces from Dojo’s initial launch, and they’ve created truly breakthrough technology in order to really move forward with their vision.
