This video provides important information for students, families, and school communities about the harms of vaping. It explains the health risks, including the dangers of nicotine addiction, and aims to raise awareness about why vaping is a concern. They can help you quit vaping and talk about: • Your vaping habit or addiction • How to stop vaping • Stress, anxiety, or depression • Concerns about a friend or family member who vapes • Any other health or wellbeing questions If you’re struggling with vaping, there are other people who can help, like: • School staff, such as a counsellor, social worker, or psychologist • A GP or pharmacist • A youth health worker or nurse at a youth health centre: o Youth Health Service (Tasmanian Health Service - North, North West and South) https://www.health.tas.gov.au/health-topic... o The Link Youth Health Service (South): https://thelink.org.au/ o Cornerstone Youth Services (North and North West): https://www.cornerstoneyouthservices.com.au/ • Quitline 13 7848 (13 QUIT) is a confidential telephone service with counsellors available to answer any questions about vapes and provide advice to help people quit. Trained counsellors specialise in helping young people to quit vaping/smoking. Online Quitline referral is available at www.quittas.org.au/resources-professionals/quitline-referral-form/. • ‘Don’t Let It In’ youth-focused microsite (www.quittas.org.au/dontletitin/) provides information on how to stop vaping and tools and supports to help young Tasmanians through their quitting journey.
