Then she sighed. “No? Figures.” The book lowered slightly. “You were never particularly capable of thinking for yourselves anyway. I’m not sure why I even bother asking.” She placed the book down on the table, fingers tapping the cover once. “Hm… although, to be fair, I’ve already said everything I needed to say.” A faint smile appeared. “Ah, right. Threadbinder already parted ways with you Sleeping Sins, didn’t they?” She tilted her head. “Congratulations.” “…Clowns.” Her gaze drifted upward, as if reviewing a list. “Let’s see what else you’ve managed to accomplish lately.” A soft hum escaped her. “Oh, yes—throwing out the very person who had been helping patch together your miserable incompetence. ” She chuckled quietly. “For what again…?” “Ah.” “A typo. ” Her shoulders lifted in an exaggerated shrug. “Damn.” “That must’ve been a difficult decision to swallow.” A giggle slipped through before she continued. “So now I’m curious.” Her eyes narrowed slightly. “What exactly can you do now, hm?” A small gesture of her hand followed. “Ah yes… some sort of little activity to keep yourselves ‘interesting.’ ” She nodded slowly. “Uh huh.” “A very fancy way of saying you’re desperate.” Then she leaned back. “And the reward for reigning as your so-called champion… is somehow even worse than the previous one you held?” She covered her mouth, stifling laughter. “Pfft—what exactly are you trying to pull here?” A long sigh escaped her. “Haa…” “Look, I understand you’re trying very hard to stay relevant.” Her voice softened into mocking sympathy. “But this?” She shook her head. “This isn’t it, friend. ” Her fingers traced the edge of the book lazily. “Maybe—just maybe—if you swallowed that nonexistent pride of yours…” “…and begged properly…” “…you might actually get somewhere.” Her gaze sharpened. “But then again…” She leaned forward slightly. “To beg… from someone you labeled an outcast.” “Someone you hated down to the core of your being.” A quiet chuckle followed. “Tell me.” “Would you really do it?” Silence lingered. Then her smile widened just a little. “Or will you stay exactly what you’ve always been?” “Sore losers.” Content MODIFIED#221C
