Special episode 5 - Wildfire and forestfire, burning mountains, Spain and Portugal - 2025.

Video footage from Northern Spain and central Portugal - august and september 2025. On going wildfires and/or resently burnt forrest and mountains. In some cases I got really close to the action, and rode right past firemen hard at work. Google maps had up to date maps of the roads and areas that where closed and open. It helped me avoid the worst of the fires. In a part of the video you can see firefighter helicopters passing over me. With a water-basket hanging under it. At some point I could feel a helicopters rotorblades pussing air down on me, and it felt like it was following me closely for a couple of kilometers. This was properbly not the case, but it makes you think a little more about where you are going and what route to take. In the areas that where hit the hardest, there was very litle traffic on the roads.. It felt a bit like a doomsday film. Many locals had left, and the rest stayed in doors to awoid the smoke. When you see "clouds" and "fog" between the mountains, it is actually smoke from the many fires. I feel for the locals, who is fighting these fires every summer. And it gets worse every year..
