Edge banding the front edge of plywood shelves. Continuing in our series documenting the various processes of completing a large built cabinetry project. In this video we are looking at edge banding the shelves. We don't do a lot of edge banding so we don't have any big equipment for this process. Just because we don't do enough to warrant large equipment doesn't mean it isn't a good skill to have in the arsenal. All you need is your basic household iron and some iron on edge banding. We share a few dos and don'ts when applying the edge banding. Once the edge banding is applied, we share our process for trimming the excess. Over at the router table well use a round over bit to flush trim the edge banding and ease the edge of the shelf in one pass.
