Creation of a 3-Tier Network Architecture for a Bank Application in Azure Virtual Networking

Before I touched Azure, as a Cloud Architecture, I designed the network using Draw.io, focusing on a secure and scalable 3-tier layers: 🔹 Frontend subnet – handles user interactions 🔹 Backend subnet – manages application logic 🔹 Database subnet – isolated for sensitive data All tiers were deployed within a single VNet to enable secure internal communication while maintaining proper network segmentation. Inside the Azure portal, I Created a Resource Group for the Bank-project, Deployed a Virtual Network in the selected region Configured custom IP address ranges Manually created, Frontend subnet, Backend subnet, Database subnet Security is critical for banking systems, so I enabled Virtual Network encryption Azure Bastion for secure access Azure Firewall for traffic control Azure DDoS Network Protection To enforced subnet-level security: Created Network Security Groups (NSGs) Associated each NSG with its corresponding subnet After deployment, I 🔹Verified the VNet and subnet configurations 🔹Reviewed connected devices 🔹Confirmed NSG associations and address space settings This project deepened my hands-on experience with Azure Networking, cloud security architecture, and designing production-ready systems for applications.
