If you've noticed that your Dyson DC24 is making a funny noise, there's a good chance it's a simple fix. Often a noise that sounds like a squeak, sigh, or scream -- high pitched and annoying -- when you turn your vacuum on and when you turn it off, is connected to a filter issue. All you need to do is change the filter inside the ball. Do NOT wash it. Some say you can, but I've found that the material doesn't dry well and clean well. Plus, it's a relatively inexpensive filter, so you might as well just install a new one. Now, you CAN successfully wash out the top filter, and we recommend doing that at least once per month.
