Düsseldorf's Christmas markets are world famous. There are no fewer than 5 different markets in this city in Germany. They all have a different theme. All of them are close to each other and easily done on foot I did them all in one day and enjoyed some local drinks and food. It is a wonderful experience. These are the 5 Markets. 0:32 - Handwerker-Markt 1:10 - Altstadt-Markt 1:44 - Kö-Bogen-Markt 2:16 - Märchen-Markt 2:52 - Kö-Lichter-Markt 3:16 - Other Highlights Handwerker-Markt This is by far the most well-known Christmas market in Düsseldorf. It is on the square in front of the Town Hall. The building has a beautiful renaissance appearance. The whole market is very colourful. Here you can find special homemade souvenirs and Christmas gifts from artisans. Altstadt-Markt Walk from the Handwerker Markt to the Altstadt-Markt on Marktstraße and Flinger Straße. Drink a nice glass of Glühwein at the colourfully illuminated Wine Pyramid. Stroll past the cozy stalls of the Christmas market. In the Altstad of Düsseldorf you will also find many restaurants for a bite to eat and cozy pubs to warm up with a local Altbier. Kö-Bogen-Markt The Kö-Bogen-Markt is one of the most visited Christmas markets. One of the reasons is the very popular ice skating rink. It is also worthwhile for families with children. You will find the children's tent where various theater performances take place. You can also regularly enjoy live music. Märchen-Markt Märchen-Markt is located at Schadowplatz. It turns into a fairytale world for young and old around the holidays. The Märchen-Markt is a nice Christmas market for families. Young visitors can take a spin on the merry-go-round, listen to fairy tales and meet Santa Claus, who visits this market every Friday. Kö-Lichter-Markt It lies on the famous Königsallee. This is the perfect place to be if you want to soak up magical light and delectable Christmas enchantment.
