Four year after the notorious Russian hacker group, Fancy Bear, penetrated a DNC server, the FBI claims that they have significantly changed how they communicate with hacking victims. Though FBI officials never explicitly admitted to a failure in the case, they are revamping their practices to warn hacking targets faster, and at a higher level of the targeted organization - placing emphasis on cases that involve the upcoming election.
