Two Teens Killed in Halloween Party Shooting in Chula Vista

Chula Vista, Calif. — October 31, 2025, 11:17 p.m. — Two teenagers were killed late Friday night after a shooting broke out during a Halloween party in Chula Vista, prompting a large police response and an active homicide investigation. Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 00 block of East Prospect Street around 11:17 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found two juveniles, ages 15 and 17, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until medics transported both victims to UCSD Medical Center. Despite resuscitation efforts, both victims were later pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to police, the victims had been attending a Halloween party when an argument escalated into gunfire. The motive and events leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives are actively working to identify the suspect or suspects responsible. Investigators believe that witnesses may have captured video of the fight or shooting on their cell phones.
