Wolves: How to keep them away (The Long Dark)

Here is a short tutorial on how to keep wolves away, using just a torch. Having a stone works too. Full video of this run soon. There are several ways to scare off wolves. Here I show how to do it using a torch - if you have a torch (or a flare) the wolf may charge you, but will always stop in its tracks and growl at you. This lasts about 5 seconds, and then it will charge you again (unless you have a flare - then it can sometimes hold it at bay). The scare the wolf away, do one of the following: 1) Drop a torch after a wolf has stopped its charge 2) Drop a torch and aim at the wolf with a stone or other weapon 3) Throw the torch at the wolf, preferably after the charge has stopped (flares work too) 4) Run at the wolf with a torch in hand - Note that this ONLY works if you have enough speed. And you must have a torch or flare in hand, in case that wasn't obvious in the video. I do not recommend doing this unless you have to. A flare works just like a torch, but is stronger and is effectively the same as a mobile campfire. Other things that also scare off wolves: 5) Flare gun (the scares off anything except aurora wolves) 6) Gunshots (50% chance of a charge has started - 100% chance if the wolf has not detected you yet) 7) Campfire (work the same as flares) 8) Shooting them in the face with anything 9) Throw a rock and hit them in the face 10) jumping off a ledge so that their pathing breaks 11) Bears and moose (wolves will flee if they get too close) Discord:   / discord   Twitch:   / stylezaknafein   This video was a slightly modified excerpt from a interloper tutorial run about spawning in Ash Canyon.
