In the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith, we are taught that no sorrow is forgotten before God. The Lord sees the tears that no one else sees. He hears the prayers you whisper in the night, the cries of your heart that words cannot fully express, and the pain you hide behind your silence. Even when heaven feels quiet, God is still near. Even when the answer seems delayed, His mercy is still working. There are seasons when the soul becomes tired, when the burden feels too heavy, and when the waiting becomes painful. In those moments, it is easy to feel alone. But our faith teaches us not to measure God’s presence by how quickly life changes. We trust Him because He is faithful, holy, and full of compassion. The same Lord who strengthened the saints in their trials, who gave patience to the righteous, and who brought light after dark seasons is the same Lord who is with you now. Your pain is not unseen. Your tears are not wasted. Your prayers are not lost. One day, by the mercy of God, He will wipe away your tears. He will give peace where there was sorrow, healing where there was brokenness, and hope where there was despair. He will answer the prayers you have carried for so long according to His holy will and in His perfect time. What feels impossible to man is never impossible to God. Sometimes He answers quickly, sometimes through patience, and sometimes in ways greater than what we expected. But He never abandons His children. So do not lose heart. Continue in prayer. Continue in faith. Continue in humility before God. Let your tears become prayer, let your suffering become endurance, and let your waiting become trust. In the Orthodox life, we learn that trials can purify the heart and draw us closer to Christ. The road may be difficult now, but the Lord is preparing peace for the one who remains steadfast in Him. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ strengthen your heart and give rest to your soul. May the Holy Virgin Mary intercede for you, may the prayers of the angels and saints surround you, and may the grace of God carry you through every sorrow until joy comes again. Hold on a little longer. God has not forgotten you.
