Every rescue patrol is a race against time and terrain. Slippery rocks, murky “poop water,” and thousands of nervous seals all stand between the rescuers and the animals that desperately need help. The Ocean Conservation Namibia team scans every movement, looking for signs of entanglement: a plastic strap, a fishing line, a knot, scar tissue, or something being dragged. They have seconds to spot and act before the opportunity is lost. If OCN doesn’t help these seals, no one else will. These animals have already been failed by humans once; we are here to make it right. Each rescue ends with the best reward possible: watching a seal run to freedom.
