Bhajanpura murder case – update* FIR No. 471/23 dt. 30.8.23 u/s 302/307/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act, PS. Bhajanpura 1. Sohail @ Chaudhary @ Bawarchi s/o Shakil Ahmad r/o HNo. D-90 Gali No. 2 Noor-e-elahi, Bhajanpura age 23 years and 2. Jubair @ Kasawra s/o Farukh r/o HNo. 335 Gali No. 6 Mohanpuri, Bhajanpura, age 23 years were apprehended near Burari, Delhi, while they are trying to escape from Delhi to Punjab. With this we have now arrested 4 accused persons in this murder case. The other two who had been arrested earlier are: 1. Mohd. Sameer @ Maya s/o Late Md. Islam R/o C-160/B, Gali No. 14, North Ghonda, Delhi Age-18 years 2. Bilal Gani @ Mallu s/o Mohd. Shaad R/o B-241/6, Gali No. 19/20, Subhash Mohalla, Bhajanpura, Delhi Age-18 years. Meanwhile, Injured – Govind Singh (32) s/o Basant Singh r/o C-35, Gali No. 1. Bhajanpura – who is being treated for gunshot injury to his head has been discharged from the Hospital. He is recuperating in his home. His condition is stable. He has been cooperating in the investigation of this case. The 5th and last remaining accused person is - Adnan @ Don R/o Chand Bagh, Mustafabad, Delhi Age 19 years. Bhajanpura Bilal Gani @ Mallu s/o Mohd. Shaad R/o B-241/6, Gali No. 19/20, Subhash Mohalla, Bhajanpura, Delhi Age-18 years. He was apprehended near Signature Bridge at about 02:00 am today (31.08.23) morning. On 29.8.23 at 11:40 pm, Bilal Gani and his associates had intercepted two persons and shot dead one of them near Gali No. 8/4, Subhash Vihar, Bhajanpura. Deceased – Harpreet Gill (36) s/o Karnail Singh r/o C-35, Gali No. 1, Bhajanpura – Senior Manager in Amazon. Gun shot injury to head. He was declared brought dead at JPC Hospital. Entry wound Right side behind ear – exit on the other side. Injured – Govind Singh (32) s/o Basant Singh r/o C-35, Gali No. 1. Bhajanpura – Runs Momo shop by name of Hungry Bird. Entry wound Right side occipital region – exit above right ear. He is being treated for gun shot injury to his head. Bilal Gani @ Mallu has turned 18 years old, just a couple of days ago, when he celebrated his 18th birthday on 27.08.2023. He is educated up to 10th class. The nick name ‘Mallu’ has stuck to him because of his habit of smoking Ganja. He is the eldest of 5 siblings. He works at a welding shop in North Ghonda, Bhajanpura. His father works as an Aluminium cutter and carpenter. Bilal is no stranger to crime. In the year 2022, he was involved in 2 heinous cases, including a murder in Bhajanpura and a robbery case where he and his associates had robbed a scooty from a person in Bhajanpura. Being a minor at that time, he managed to come out of the Children Observation Home in no time. On 29.8.23, he along with his 4 other associates, Mohd. Sameer @ Maya (18 years), Sohail @ Bawarchi (23 years), Mohd Junaid @ Biryani (23 years) and Adnan @ Don (age 19 years) were having a party at Maya’s house in North Ghonda, Bhajanpura. At about 10:30 pm, all 5 decided to step out for a ride. Mohd Sameer # Maya was carrying a pistol. They were traveling on a TVS Ntorq and a Honda Activa. All five drove inside the narrow bye lanes inside Bhajanpura. They stopped at a few places and finally drove inside Gali No. 8/4, Subhash Vihar, Bhajanpura. Gali No. 8/4, is quite narrow and two motorcycles can not cross each other without one having to stop and squeeze to one side to let the other pass through. Incidentally, Harpreet Gill (36) and Govind Singh (32) were coming from the other side in the same gali. Both sides wanted the other to stop and give way. Bilal and his associates became super aggressive. Junaid got down and slapped Govind Singh. When Govind and Harpreet tried to get down to speak with the youngsters, Mohd Sameer @ Maya opened fire from close range and shot both Harpreet and Govind on their heads. The assailants drove/ ran away from the spot. Both victims had fallen down. Harpreet succumbed to his injuries. Govind is being treated for gun shot injury to his head. After the incident, all the accused persons decided to lie low for a while. Bilal has been apprehended today morning. The accused persons were identified after CCTV cameras were scanned near the spot. Other accused persons who were with Bilal on the fateful day are: 1. Mohd. Sameer @ Maya s/o Late Md. Zuned @ Mama Biryani s/o Late Md. Shabir R/o C-234, Gali No. 9, Brahmpuri Road, Delhi Age-23 years 4. Adnan @ Don R/o Chand Bagh, Mustafabad, Delhi Age 19 years Efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining accused persons in this case.
