Steve breaks down this Unrestored 1962 Pontiac Catalina Super Duty that will be auctioned off by Richmond Auctions Oct 24-25. You can register at bid.richmondauctions.com. Here is a description of this lot: No Reserve. Before GM's corporate ban on all racing activities, the Pontiac brand led the corporation with great engine and body packages, and this 1961 Catalina is a great example of Pontiac's all-out warpath against its competition. Equipped with a 421 Cubic-Inch V8 engine and dual Carter AFB carburetors, the Pontiac Engineers didn't stop there. The Super Duty Catalinas also went on a diet with the use of aluminum body parts such as front bumper, front fenders, and hood. Unlike many Super Duty Catalinas that were shipped out as 'stripper' no-option models, this particular example has eight-lug wheels, Pushbutton radio, heater, bench seat, 8-lug wheels, 8.00x 14 Blackwall tires, under-dash gauges, and other options. This unrestored two-owner Pontiac has only amassed 20,646 miles from new and has been carefully maintained to retain its original Yuma Beige paint and gold vinyl/cloth interior. Comes with documentation and authenticity from the Pontiac Historical Services. VIN: 362P25306.
