DIY router pocket hole cutting machine

Update 4-14-2025 Link to plans https://payhip.com/b/2Cvnx I started watching The New Yankee Workshop and This Old House when I was about 12 years old. They did a demonstration on TOH using the Porter Cable 552 pocket hole cutter and I thought it was so cool. I have a drill bit style system now and I hate using it cause of the angle it drills the pocket. It always shifts during assembly no matter how clamped down it is. Just finished a project that used pocket screws and kept thinking about that machine. I don’t know the story but it was a Porter Cable machine when I saw it. It’s made now by a company called Castle. I looked at them and they are just a bit too much $ for being just a home DIY guy. Anyway I incorporated features from their bench top model and their more industrial floor model into mine. It ended up being pretty involved. I had to weld, machine, and 3d print some of the parts. It was fun to build and now I finally have one.
