While it’s not typically remembered as an RPG powerhouse like some of its contemporaries, it still had its share of unique and memorable titles in the genre. Some of these will be obvious. Some of these you may have never heard! These Nintendo 64 RPGs may not get the same spotlight as classics from other 16-bit and 32-bit systems—like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, or Earthbound—but they deserve a moment of appreciation for what they brought to the table during a transitional era in gaming. So let’s give some overdue recognition to the RPG offerings on Nintendo’s bold jump into the 3D era.
