This is the site of an old Girl Scout camp that existed here in this forest during the 1960's. It was Camp Withlacoochee or Withlacoochee Wilderness Camp Today the site is abandoned and some traces from the past still remain here (for now). Many memories were made here and I believe the campsites were used up until around the 1980's. Scouts learned valuable outdoor skills and life lessons here and was a place where they enjoyed the wilderness. It was near the Withlacoochee River and had many recreational opportunities. This video is dedicated to those who camped and visited this place over the years. If you do find this place in the forest please be respectful of what history still remains and leave the sites as you see them undisturbed so that hopefully the place can be experienced by future generations where they can remember what it was once like out here.
