I team up with River Devereux to assess the biblical claims of the so-called "Second Ecumenical Council of Nicaea". We aim to demonstrate that this council had fundamentally strayed from the living word of God and chose to force in their novel, heretical interpretations thereof. This collaboration will be entirely focused on the council's biblical argumentation, and not on its use of patristic testimony or its historical circumstances (which present additional problems for iconodules). This will allow us to bring special focus to this ultimate concern over what God has commanded. We will also discuss the perspicuity of scripture, the sufficiency of scripture, and the authority of scripture, particularly in relation to this issue.
